Finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on completion of my new shop. First up is my general woodworking bench a Roubo bench on the cheap made from pressure treated 6x6 and 2x4's. The leg vice, most expensive thing on the bench is in the mail.

These are simple benches I had in my old shop. They were ugly so I decided to make them look better with paint and nice maple ply tops.

And now I have a nice L-Shaped bench, something I've wanted for a long time now

Nice and really nice looking shop there. I love the floors, wish I had reclaimed wood flooring in my shop....and windows.....and.....

I'll have to do a before and after photo thread of building this shop. It's been almost two years, this August, since my wife and I moved to this new house and started on all the projects. Her pottery studio is done and now the guitar shop is just about done. We probably went overkill on it but my philosophy is that you need a nice place to make nice things. The wood floors were 80 years old and unbelievably filthy. I don't think they were ever finished and there was all kinds of stuff spilled all over them and the building must have survived a fire too. After refinishing they are great and comfortable enough on the feet too.

James it was done with hand tools mostly and a drill press to drill out and mark the corners and depth. Then using pull saw and back saw to line out the blocks to be removed with a hammer and chisel.

Very nice, I like your shop floor also.

I just bought a 1972 Fender Deluxe Reverb off craigslist. The seller was a just out of law school lawyer and he was selling all things electric to buy wood and hand tools to make things. He had just finished a european beech Roubo style bench 17' long with a full set of drawers underneath, all with hand tools, and a two piece top 3" thick 17' long. Beautiful, I would hate moving it [uncle]
